Powered by the Iridium Certus network, the GSR 56C datalink provides fast weather updates, texting and more while simultaneously supporting a phone call through the avionics.

CABIN MESSAGING

When combined with the GDL® 60 datalink for connectivity in the cabin, GSR 56C lets crew and passengers communicate in-flight via the Garmin Messenger app, iMessage® or WhatsApp on their mobile devices4.

EXPANDED GLOBAL WEATHER

In addition to METARs, TAFs, winds aloft and radar imagery, GSR 56C supports a wide range of weather products3, including storm cells, freezing levels, icing and echo tops and more, where available. Weather is updated automatically every 5 minutes along your route of flight.

AVIONICS INTEGRATION

Seamlessly integrating satellite connectivity with compatible Garmin flight decks, GSR 56C enables pilots to receive global weather products on the displays and call or text via SMS to any compatible phone or email address.

TALK AND TEXT EN ROUTE

The GSR 56C datalink provides two-way calling via crew headsets and SMS texting to any compatible phone or email address. A local telephone number is assigned to the aircraft5, so it's easy to make and receive calls and messages in-flight.

TRANSMIT POSITION REPORTS

Available position reporting capability6 provides GPS-referenced reports at preset intervals to show your aircraft's status en route — allowing those on the ground to easily track your mission's progress.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE REPORTS

With compatible avionics, GSR 56C can optionally transmit aircraft maintenance data to alert your service team to issues that may require attention when you land.

GARMIN PILOT™ APP INTERFACE

Leverage the Garmin Pilot app to seamlessly stream weather7, send texts or initiate calls from your contacts list8.

SATELLITE SUPERIORITY

Offering seamless global coverage, including the polar regions, the Iridium Certus low Earth orbit satellite network uses L-band frequencies, which are more resilient to weather and line-of-sight connectivity issues.
